Summer Pierre is a realist and talked about how doing art to become rich or famous is folly. You have to do it because you love it. Because you see value in the work that you do. And that is why we will continue to see more comics coming from Summer Pierre.
Summer started cartooning again in her 40s after a 20 year break. She started up again by getting a sketchbook, the same every time, and using cheap pens draws one page every day. At first, they weren’t even comics, but eventually there came repeating characters and story lines. She continues this practice to this day and has collected over 100 of these sketchbooks, each on a shelf with the date range of work on the spine.
