Please join us in celebrating our sixth commencement ceremony, with guest speaker Tom De Haven
The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) Sixth Commencement Ceremony takes place on Saturday, May 12 at 11am at Northern Stage Theater (at the Briggs Opera House) in White River Junction, Vermont. This year’s Commencement speaker is novelist Tom De Haven. A special opening reception for the CCS Thesis Exhibition, featuring the graduating students’ original artwork, takes place immediately following the ceremony. All events are free and open to the public.
Tom De Haven is an American Book Award-winning author. His acclaimed Derby Dugan trilogy (Funny Papers, Depression Funnies, and Dugan Underground) and 2005 novel, It’s Superman!, explore the history and culture of American comics. De Haven is a two-time recipient of National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, and a frequent contributor to The New York Times Book Review and Entertainment Weekly.
Thesis Exhibition Opening Reception immediately following in the CCS Gallery, Colodny Building. Exhibition runs Monday-Saturday, 10am-2pm, through Saturday, June 16.
Both events are located in the village of White River Junction, Vermont.
