Michelle Ollie, president and co-founder of The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) in White River Junction, Vermont, was recognized as the Town of Hartford’s Citizen of the Year by American Legion Post No. 26.
Ollie relocated from Minneapolis to the village of White River Junction in 2004 to open The Center for Cartoon Studies with cartoonist James Sturm. CCS has a local economic impact of over $1 million annually and is a leader in the revitalization of downtown White River Junction.
For her commitment, leadership, and optimism for the future of White River Junction, and for her efforts that have brought local, regional, and national recognition and impact to the village and the Town of Hartford, Michelle Ollie was named Citizen of the Year on June 11, 2009.
