Lucy Knisley ’09 has created a collection of cats to help fight against racism. She has a variety of items for sale, with proceeds going to different organizations. She sold the line art and watercolor art on Ebay, with sales going to The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
You can get in on the catty antiracism, too, with posters and more:
- Poster (through Topatoco)
- Cat Font – proceeds go to Black Mamas Matter
- Downloadable coloring page – proceeds go to Moms Rising
- Repeating cat background (in full color or blue) for computers and phones – proceeds go to foundations working to end food apartheid
The illustration started on her Patreon as a donation incentive—for each $20+ donation to one of the following causes, she would draw a cat on a poster. Just these donations raised over $2500 to fight racial discrimination.
- Black Mamas Matter
- Power To Decide
- Moms Rising
- Black Food Justice
- Dreaming Out Loud
- Food Is Power
- Black Urban Growers
You can find all her antiracist casts on her website! Lucy Knisley is a graduate of The Center for Cartoon Studies, the creator of many memoir graphic novels, covering travel (French Milk), her wedding (Something New), and her pregnancy and giving birth (Kid Gloves). Her food memoir, Relish, was a New York Times bestseller!
