The Boston Book Festival is a free festival promoting the culture of reading. They also hold year-round events, but the festival is the annual culmination of their work. Tillie Walden ’16 will also be here with her award-winning memoir Spinning (First Second, 2017) and her newest book, On a Sunbeam.
With the release of the Berlin: City of Light (Drawn and Quarterly), Jason Lutes is out and about this fall. On October 13, Jason will be at the Boston Book Festival. Then he scoots north to appear at the Vermont Book Shop on October 17. Jason’s trilogy Berlin, now compiled in a single volume, is a historical fiction graphic novel about the decline of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Nazism in Germany.

The Center for Cartoon Studies is hosting an Exhibit Opening on Thursday, October 4, 5-7pm!
Jason will also be at Phoenix Books on October 9 in Rutland, VT and in their Burlington store on October 18.
The Vermont Book Shop is an independent bookstore in a rehabilitated historical building. Jason will be in conversation with Jack Mayer (Before the Court of Heaven, Long Trail Press, 2015) in a free event hosted at the Marquis Theatre and Cafe on October 17.
