The state of Vermont has insurance plans available at reasonable rates for those without access to insurance through an employer. Depending on eligibility, applicants may have to be without insurance for 6 months prior to qualifying for the Vermont State Plan.

The Good Neighbor Health Clinic opened in White River Junction in 1992 to ensure that quality medical care is available to all those in the Upper Valley in medical need but without the means to pay. In August 1996, the Red Logan Dental Clinic was opened in response to the need for dental care.

The clinic is open three nights a week with scheduled appointments beginning at 5:30. The all-volunteer staff is comprised of physicians, nurses, allied health personnel, and medical students.
