THE CENTER FOR CARTOON STUDIES
2008 COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
AND THESIS EXHIBITION

White River Junction, Vermont - The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) announces the 2008 Thesis Exhibition opening at The Center for Cartoon Studies immediately following the Commencement Ceremony which takes place on Saturday, May 17 at 11am at Northern Stage in White River Junction, Vermont.

This year's commencement speaker is Alison Bechdel, critically acclaimed author of graphic memoir, Fun Home.

"I count myself extremely lucky to have spent the past year working with the CCS Class of 2008. The level of dedication and craft they have collectively brought to the drawing table has been truly inspiring. I'm looking forward to seeing the final fruits of their labors on display in the Thesis Exhibition, as well as the great comics they'll be producing in years to come," says Jason Lutes, CCS faculty member and acclaimed cartoonist.

Many thanks to Northern Stage for the use of their magnificent stage for our Commencement Ceremony, and Harpoon Brewery for donating soda for the Thesis Exhibition opening reception.

Thesis Exhibition:
Opening Reception is Saturday, May 17, immediately following the Commencement Ceremony.

The exhibition will run Saturday, May 17 thru Saturday June 21; it will be open to the public Monday thru Saturday, 10am - 4pm. Graduating seniors will be exhibiting their thesis projects, including preview pages of completed and to-be-completed graphic novels, short stories, visual narratives, and mini comic series.

The Center for Cartoon Studies Gallery is located at 94 South Main Street, in the Colodny building.
