THE CENTER FOR CARTOON STUDIES
PRESENTS PULITZER PRIZE WINNER ART SPIEGELMAN

Thursday, November 18, 8-10pm
Hotel Coolidge, White River Junction, Vermont

White River Junction, VT - The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) will be hosting an evening reception with Art Spiegelman, creator of MAUS, A SURVIVOR'S TALE, and the recently released book, IN THE SHADOW OF NO TOWERS. Spiegelman is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential cartoonists of our time.

Book signing, desserts, and poets are just a few of the items on the agenda. Spiegelman will be presenting and signing copies of IN THE SHADOW OF NO TOWERS.

CCS has received generous support from local and state organizations, friends, and national cartoonists since it formed this past March. The staff is actively recruiting a cohort of students to begin its two-year, full-time program in fall 2005. CCS is currently working on raising funds for the remodel of the historic Colodny building in White River Junction. The remodel will include classrooms, labs, studios, and a gallery. CCS will bring vital economic development to the area as its new students, faculty, staff, and visitors arrive.

This special event is the CCS inaugural fundraiser and takes place on Thursday, November 18, from 8-10pm at the Hotel Coolidge in White River Junction, Vermont. Tickets for the event are $100/person. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance. All proceeds will go toward creating a world-class art school in the heart of White River Junction. To order tickets call (802) 295-3319 or
