Laptop Checkout Policy

Equipment may be checked out for 24 hours. Any longer term checkouts must be approved.

All equipment will be tested by the lab tech before being checked out. If equipment is returned in non-working order, broken, or missing parts, the person who checked it out will pay for subsequent repair or replacement. They will be invoiced for all repair costs, replacement costs, and shipping costs and must pay the balance off before they are allowed to check out computer equipment again.

Equipment must be turned in as requested by the lab tech (via email or phone) for maintenance or instructional needs or for any other reason. If a request is not answered, the person with equipment checked out will be unable to check out computer equipment for the remainder of the semester and possibly the next semester or year.

    CCS Screen Printing Lab

The CCS Screen Printing Lab is open 24 hours a day to current students and alumni who have paid the annual lab fee. Each student receives their own 20" x 24" (outside dimension) 195 mesh count screen.

Inks and emulsions are stocked year round. CCS provides Speedball Permanent Acrylic Ink in the 3 primary colors, plus white and black. Process color inks are also available. CCS provides Speedball Diazo Emulsion and Emulsion Remover. Squeegees are available in many different sizes.

The lab is equipped with all the tools necessary to prepare screens using the photo emulsion technique, including several scoop coaters, an industrial light table, a large 2-basin spray-out sink, and a screen drying area with light proof cabinets. Letter size vellum (8.5² x 11²) is available for free, and oversize vellum (11" x 17") can be purchased from the lab tech on duty.

There are four printing stations with hinge clamps, and several portable printing stations. Our multi tiered drying rack can hold a high capacity of prints, allowing several students to use it at once.

A variety of paper and cardstock is available for printing. For students who provide their own paper, a shared paper storage shelf is available.
