DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH SCHOLARSHIP

Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. is proud to partner with The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) to award an aspiring cartoonist a full one-year tuition scholarship at The Center for Cartoon Studies beginning in fall 2007.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and be a United States citizen or resident. Only completed applications will be considered.


Applying:

  1. APPLICATION: Download and complete the Diamond Scholarship Application Form (48k pdf).
  2. WRITE AN ESSAY: Double spaced essay entitled "WHY THE DIAMOND SCHOLARSHIP SHOULD BE AWARDED TO ME." Two copies. Format: 12pt, double spaced, maximum 3 pages or 1000 word count.
  3. MAKE A COMIC: Produce a minimum two page comic story starring yourself, a snowman, a robot, and a piece of fruit. Two copies should be sent on non-returnable 8.5 x 11 copy paper. Improperly formatted comics will not be considered.

Please don't send original artwork. All materials received are non-returnable.
