White River Junction, VT -The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) is auctioning a breakfast with three of the world’s most celebrated cartoonists. The lucky winner will share an uncomfortably small booth with Ivan Brunetti, Seth, and Chris Ware in White River Junction’s (VT) storied Polka Dot Diner. Cartoonists will also draw in the winner’s sketchbook during breakfast. Winner will also receive a tour of The Center for Cartoon Studies.
The auction is a fund-raiser for the CCS student scholarship fund. The three cartoonists will be visiting CCS for several days to work with students, lecture, and discuss the making of comics.
The online auction begins on Ebay.com Wednesday, March 22, at 10a.m. and concludes Saturday, April 1, at 10a.m. PST
Breakfast takes place on Tuesday, April 11. Starting bid is $1000.

Chris Ware is the author of the graphic novel Jimmy Corrigan – the Smartest Kid on Earth (Pantheon Books, 2000), which received the Guardian First Book Award in 2001, the American Book Award in 2000, and the prestigious French comics award L’Alph Art in 2003. Chris’ Building Stories is currently being serialized in The New York Times Magazine.
Ivan Brunetti has written and drawn four issues of his comic book series Schizo, as well as a collection of gag cartoons HAW!, for Fantagraphics Books. He is the editor for the forthcoming An Anthology of Graphic Fiction published by Yale University Press. He has also drawn comics and illustrations for The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Spin, Fast Company, New City, The Stranger, The New York Press, The Comics Journal, Scooby-Doo, The Jetsons, and Cartoon Network Presents.
Seth’s book, It’s a Good Life If You Don’t Weaken, has been translated into many languages and was selected one of the 100 best comics of the 20th century by the editors of The Comics Journal. Other books include Wimbledon Green, Vernacular Drawings, and Clyde Fans. He is also the designer of the best-selling Complete Peanuts by Charles Schulz. His work is regularly featured in the pages and on the cover of The New Yorker and has been profiled in The New York Times Magazine.
THE CENTER FOR CARTOON STUDIES, offering one and two-year courses of study, is designed for a small group of dedicated highly creative students with a passion and appreciation for graphic novels, storytelling, writing, comics, and design. Experienced and internationally recognized cartoonists, writers, and designers will teach classes. The school is located in downtown White River Junction, Vermont in the historic Colodny Surprise Department Store building.
