CHECKLIST OF ITEMS TO SUBMIT WITH THIS APPLICATION FORM
1) ESSAY:
A three-to-four page double spaced essay (fiction or nonfiction) with one of the following titles:
- Cartoonists are like that, OR
- The future
2) ASSEMBLE A PORTFOLIO CONSISTING OF:
- A minimum two page comic story starring yourself, a snowman, and a robot. You may combine characters! Format may be a zine, mini-comic, plain black and white copies, or an online comic. Crisp legible reproduction is a must. Non-returnable.
- Eight samples of your work in any media that represents your abilities. CCS will look at comics, computer art, video, paintings, and drawings. Send slides, photocopies, tear sheets, mini-comics, zines, CDs, or web addresses. Slides and CDs will be returned if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included. Under no circumstances should you send original art.
3) TRANSCRIPTS:
Please request that an official transcript from each school be sent directly to the CCS Admissions Office, PO BOX 125, White River Junction, VT 05001. Transcripts marked "Issued to Student" will not be accepted.

A $50 application fee should accompany the application with a check or money order payable to The Center for Cartoon Studies.

DEADLINE:
CCS has rolling admissions; students are encouraged to apply as early as possible since space is limited. The incoming class is limited to 20 students. The school reviews applications as soon as they are complete and will notify students immediately regarding their admission status. You do not need to submit all application materials at once in order to begin the application process, but your application and requirements must be complete prior to review for consideration.

TUITION PAYMENT OPTIONS & LOANS
The Center for Cartoon Studies (CCS) offers limited direct scholarships and on campus employment positions. CCS scholarships are applicable only to accepted students and deducted directly from your CCS tuition balance. The following options are available for tuition payments and loans:

Tuition Payment Plan Agreement (TPPA)
Students have the option to sign up for the Tuition Payment Plan Agreement (TPPA). The monthly payment plan is initiated by completing the Tuition Invoice Form and the TPPA Agreement & Enrollment Form; both are mailed to enrolled students the summer prior to fall enrollment. Tuition payments are interest-free, although a small monthly service fee is charged. The balance is spread into nine equal payments over the course of the academic year. Payment by credit card, check, or wire transfer
We also accept tuition payments made by credit card, check, or wire transfer.
You can select your payment method on the tuition invoice, which is mailed the summer prior to fall enrollment.

CCS has negotiated special rates with local dorm-like apartment rentals at The Hotel Coolidge in the hostel wing of the building. For more information, photographs, and rates, visit: http://www.cartoonstudies.org/hotelcoolidge/
Most students live in nearby apartments. CCS staff provides enrolled students with local housing information and access to our intranet site, which includes area rental postings.

Tours and Appointments should be arranged in advance by contacting us.
Prospective students and school personnel are encouraged to visit CCS.

Tours may be scheduled between 9am and 5pm daily.
